RegMIC & RegenMed Hub

RegenMed Hub

One of the fastest growing intersections of biotechnology innovation and business in the nation – the RegenMed Hub – can be found in bustling downtown Winston-Salem, North Carolina where a cluster of over 25 regenerative medicine related companies are located.  The Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine (WFIRM), the world’s largest regenerative medicine research facility, anchors the south end of the Innovation Quarter district, which is focused on research, biomedical science education, and business.

There are a number of ongoing efforts all focused on advancing regenerative medicine such as:

  • The RegenMed Development Organization (ReMDO), a non-profit foundation headquartered in Winston-Salem that is dedicated to advancing the field nationwide through programs it manages, which includes:
    • The Regenerative Manufacturing Innovation Consortium (RegMIC)
    • The Regenerative Medicine Manufacturing Society (RMMS)
    • RegeneratOR Test Bed
    • RegeneratOR Workforce Development Program
    • RegeneratOR Innovation Accelerator
    • RegeneratOR Clinical Trials Catalyst

Regenerative Manufacturing Innovation Consortium (RegMIC)

The Regenerative Manufacturing Innovation Consortium (RegMIC) grew out of the Regenerative Medicine Foundation Annual Conference in 2014. Participants identified a variety of challenges to manufacturing that the consortium is committed to solving. In addition to road-mapping efforts, consortium members have an important “voice” in identifying strategic funding areas. For example, member input and support resulted in the successful leveraging of government funds to support major manufacturing/standards projects.

Why Get Involved With the Regenerative Manufacturing Innovation Consortium?

Participation offers the following benefits:

  • Access to an integrated network of leading U.S. research centers, companies of all sizes, thought leaders, and relevant government agencies.
  • Insights into emerging standards and regulatory science challenges.
  • Access to education and training programs in regenerative medicine to build internal competencies.
  • Ground-floor access to regenerative medicine platform technologies critical to commercial adoption.
  • The potential to leverage government funding to de-risk new technology.
  • Access to world-renowned core capabilities and shared talent.
